Students receive a Permaculture Design certificate upon completion. This course will introduce you to the essential principles and practices of Permaculture, an ecological design system for creating abundant regenerative human habitats. Permaculture principles combine ancient wisdoms with scientific knowledge as a tool kit to help you disengage from consumer culture and begin creating a sustainable future for yourself and the planet. This Permaculture Certification Course is an extensive learning experience presented by a team of instructors, using lecture, discussion, hands-on projects, demonstrations, videos, site visits, and student presentations as teaching tools. Be prepared for an incredible amount of information during our short time together. And, because Permaculture attracts some of the most intelligent, dedicated, vital people on the planet, you can expect that the social and cultural aspects of this course will be as rich as the intellectual.

Permaculture is a practical design system that emulates natural patterns to create regenerative systems. Recognizing that we were born into a culture that is based on disconection from Nature, and that our education, religion, and media reflect that tragic mistake, a basic aim of Permaculture education is to stretch our minds to grasp the enormity of our cultural delusion: The delusion that life is possible without fully living one's connection to Nature and to community. Permaculture combines ancient wisdoms with scientific knowledge to form a set of ethics and principles that offers the tools, skills, knowledge, and inspiration for creating sustainable culture and a healthy future for all of us. Permaculture is a worldwide movement that is rooted in respect for all living things and our conscious choice to be better partners with the natural world.
